Matt joined Zurich as Chief Claims Officer for Australia and New Zealand in June 2023 and is responsible for claims across retail life, group life and all lines of general insurance. He has over 25 years’ experience across a variety of industries; including general insurance, life insurance, wealth management and telecommunications. Prior to joining Zurich, Matt was the Group Chief Operations Officer at nib Group, responsible for all operational aspects of private health insurance and travel insurance. Matt has also held senior executive roles at TAL, Vodafone, IAG, and ING Australia / OnePath.
He is renowned for excelling in customer operations transformation and he possesses a breadth and depth of both strategy and execution capabilities across digital operations, customer service, claims, agile ways of working & product delivery, robotics & process automation/optimisation.
Matt has a Graduate Certificate in Management (AGSM), Bachelor of Arts (UTS), Diploma of Financial Planning (Kaplan) and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Matt was awarded the AFR Boss ‘Young Executive of the Year’, Australia (2009) and CSIA ‘Leader of the Year’, Australia (2007).
